What is the Day Treatment Program?
The purpose of the Day Treatment Program is to provide intensive therapy services, developmental intervention and caregiver education in an interdisciplinary model to meet the rehabilitative needs of children with medical and physical challenges. The goal is to increase independent function and to assist children in reaching their maximum potential and to transition back into their community.
Primarily, children 1 through 21 years of age, who require a sub-acute day program, participate for at least 3 hours per day of therapy services and group programming to address their rehabilitation needs. This may include, but is not limited to, children with brain injury, spinal cord injury, burns, and orthopedic injuries/post-surgery.
The children have access to a stimulating age-appropriate activity area for group programming and opportunities for outdoor play. The fully equipped pediatric therapy gym includes an Ergys Bike, Lite Gait system, biofeedback computer, splinting facilities, workout equipment, toys for therapeutic play and an Aquatic Therapy Pool. Meals are provided in a dining room with other children and an area for rest is provided as needed.
